- 6:30 in the morning, Malawi.
- We are in Mzuzu, the capital of the Northern Region.
- I stayed up all night yesterday,
- finished editing the previous video,
- and it’s encoding right now.
- But I have some really good news.
- For a while now, some of you have been expressing concerns in the comments about the players’ diet,
- because the players usually eat mostly carbohydrates,
- like nsima and rice,
- and since their meals are centered around things like that,
- there have been a lot of comments asking whether they’re getting enough protein.
- But this time, we have started a collaboration with Myprotein,
- a brand specializing in protein products.
- Since their headquarters are in the UK,
- the process wasn’t exactly easy.
- Fortunately, this week,
- Myprotein and Chizumulu have teamed up,
- and while other advertising is great too,
- a collaboration that directly helps the team is even better.
- Especially if you’ve watched our videos, you’ll know
- that physicality is really important in this league.
- But the problem is that, from the UK to Malawi, we can send the products, but
- I asked around at several places,
- and they said they had no idea how long it would take.
- It will eventually arrive in Malawi,
- but since there are so many products,
- they said they could potentially be held up at customs for quite a while.
- So I was wondering what to do,
- and today is Friday,
- but the next game has been pushed back to Tuesday,
- so we have a little more time.
- So I decided to just go to the UK today,
- pick up the protein products that our players can consume right away,
- and
- make sure we can start using them from the next game.
- There are just too many risks,
- so I decided this was the only option.
- Malawi and the UK are definitely not close,
- it takes almost 20 hours,
- which is almost
- the same as going to Korea,
- but Myprotein is also covering the cost of the flight.
- So I’m going to make the trip with gratitude.
- I’ll stay one night in the UK,
- then come straight back to Malawi,
- and after that I’ll go straight to Nkhata Bay,
- take a boat, and head over to Chizumulu.
- (Mzuzu → Lilongwe Airport, 6-hour journey)
- (Why is this guy here all alone?)
- I’ve never had such a terrifying experience in my life.
- (After barely making the flight)
- (Fell asleep from exhaustion)
- I’m at Addis Ababa Airport,
- and I’m waiting for my next flight to Manchester.
- It’s only another nine hours from here,
- and I’ll arrive in Manchester.
- Koreans don’t need a visa to enter the UK,
- so you can just enter,
- but apparently something wasn’t registered
- in the airport’s computer system,
- so it kept giving me errors,
- and while everyone else was getting on their flights,
- I was still at the check-in counter.
- Luckily, it was finally resolved.
- It’s either Kenya Airways or Ethiopian Airlines.
- But Kenya Airways
- doesn’t operate flights to Korea,
- so if you’re going from Korea to Malawi,
- Ethiopian Airlines is basically the only option.
- So I’ve practically devoted my life to Ethiopian Airlines at this point.
- Trying to qualify for European competition with a Welsh second-division team.
- (Connecting through Marseille)
- I’m in Marseille, France right now,
- and Ethiopian Airlines has a lot of routes like this,
- where they get off the people who are getting off here like a bus,
- then pick up more passengers,
- and continue on to Manchester.
- Fast forward! It’s the next day, and I’m at a hotel in front of Manchester Airport.
- The protein I needed
- arrived safely in these boxes,
- and I packed them into this suitcase.
- Now I’m heading straight back to Malawi.
- After being in Malawi,
- the internet here is seriously fast.
- So I quickly uploaded some things
- that I’d been wanting to upload for a while,
- and now I’m heading back to Malawi with excitement.
- The person who loves Malawi the MOST~~~~~ in the world.
- (On the way back, I went via Geneva and Addis Ababa)
- Back in Malawi (she’s not here)
- Heading straight to Nkhata Bay.
- Still, since I haven’t had internet for a while,
- I took the opportunity to organize my thoughts,
- and worked a bit while transferring between flights.
- (Ilala ferry ticket office)
- One deck ticket to Chizumulu, please.
- 24,000 kwacha (about 10,000 won)
- (Hired someone to carry one of my bags and come along)
- Still, I took comfort in the fact that it’s better than the other boats.
- It took 30 minutes to get this far.
- (Pushing my way up)
- Wow, this is fucking exhausting,
- but I managed to make my way up,
- and down below it’s basically hell on earth.
- It’s at least a little more peaceful once you come up here.
- It’s about 7 p.m. now,
- and according to what I heard earlier, they’re leaving around 10.
- So we’ll probably arrive in Chizumulu around
- maybe 2 a.m.
- Earlier, I saw some Ekwendeni FC players
- getting on the boat too. (Tomorrow’s opponents)
- So it looks like we’ll arrive in Chizumulu together.
- I had an in-flight meal around 1 p.m.,
- and haven’t eaten anything since,
- so I’m going to get some food here.
- Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever filmed myself eating on the Ilala,
- so
- I’ll give you a little tour.
- First, let’s start with the bathroom.
- The bathroom upstairs is at least relatively clean,
- and they’ve even installed an air freshener up here.
- (Chicken and rice. A bit expensive because it’s on the boat, about 7,000 won)
- (It tastes good)
- Four hours on the boat — skip~
- (Arrived in Chizumulu)
- 2:30 a.m. — arrived in Chizumulu.
- Since it’s basically straight into the match now and things are going to get hectic,
- I’m going to close my eyes for a bit
- and get back up.
- (Currently at the dorm, me) That thing is completely filled out + [unreadable] notebook.
- (I had to write everything by hand during the last away game, and it was exhausting)
- Ohhh, Chichewa!
- Tatokoza. (Thank you)
- (Since this season we have to record everything we do too, it’s a huge pain)
- (Had about an hour-long meeting about today’s game and next week’s schedule)
- (Taking out the Myprotein products I brought from the UK)
- This is Myprotein’s Origin Pre-Workout.
- It’s mainly taken before exercise,
- but we’re going to give it to the players before matches.
- This one is focused on protein.
- (Tasting Impact Whey Protein Milkshake)
- The taste is~
- Let me savor it.
- Make one separately for Mackson.
- I’m going to drink all of this.
- This is fucking amazing.
- An absolutely certain head shake.
- You don’t even have to act.
- I’m not acting. This is incredible.
- (Mackson Thundu)
- This is good. The players are going to love this too.
- (Media staff, Moster)
- Can I add more water to this and drink it?
- Robert adapts quickly.
- I can’t resist.
- Mcfallen: Remember, this is for the players, not for the coaches.
- Yeah, I’ll keep it with me and hand it out on match day.
- If I keep this at home, it’ll be a disaster.
- I might end up eating it all without even realizing it.
- (Moster leaves not a single bit of powder behind)
- This will be a really good source of motivation for the players.
- The players here can’t consume large amounts of protein,
- so this protein supplement will be a big help to them.
- I think we need to get ready for the match right away.
- First, I’ll eat with the players,
- then we’ll go watch today’s 3 p.m. season opener against Ekwendeni FC.
- What’s today’s menu?
- The answer: Chizumulu-style duck.
- Everyone’s enjoying lunch.
- Wow.
- It’s duck today,
- so let’s eat well.
- There aren’t that many places across Malawi
- where you can eat duck,
- and this is one of them.
- I learned another Chichewa sentence on the way here yesterday. (Showing off)
- (Nsima gets chewier and tastes better when you roll it around like this)
- It’s great with a vegetable called mpiru.
- The duck is good too.
- There are a lot of side dishes here today too.
- That’s enough.
- Mcfallen: Ah, it’s a bit greasy.
- Mackson: Kimchi kimbap.
- We had a nice, filling meal,
- and now there are
- about three hours until kickoff.
- The thing we’re using to surround the pitch,
- I called it a bag before,
- but I think “sack” is a more accurate description.
- Hello!
- (The Chizumulu kids are so innocent and cute)
- I wanted to change everything as soon as I arrived,
- but things don’t really go as I want them to.
- I tried to find sacks in Mzuzu,
- but it was difficult.
- I had no idea
- finding large sacks could be this difficult.
- Even after asking around everywhere,
- either the quality wasn't what we wanted or the size didn't fit, so we ended up failing to find what we needed.
- So there are still some places where the quality isn't very good.
- Next week, I’m going with Mcfallen
- to look for some players on loan for us,
- and we’re going to
- Blantyre, the economic capital of Malawi.
- So we’ll buy some there
- and reinforce the setup.
- The line is made from what you might call the corn husks, I guess?
- It’s made from what’s left after removing the corn kernels,
- and as for the net,
- I paid a whopping 200,000 won for it here,
- and now we have a really good net.
- Oh.
- They’re eating this.
- Maybe because after we installed it last time,
- they ate all of it.
- (Allan’s locker-room talk. Captain Mantoh is currently injured)
- (Elchoise ankle supports again today)
- Thank you, Myprotein.
- (Making Origin Pre-Workout to drink before the match)
- (Choosing watermelon over pear)
- Francis, how is it?
- Very delicious.
- It smells good too.
- Laban feeling Myprotein with his whole body.
- It's a good day for football, and I'm hoping we can pick up another three points today.
- We only have Francis Phiri and Laban Longwe at left-back,
- and since Laban showed good form in training, he’s starting today.
- Our striker options are Emmanuel Mkandawire and our usual starter,
- so I wanted to see what Emmanuel could show us today.
- This really isn’t a simple thing.
- Having an opportunity to work with companies like these,
- companies that believe in you,
- isn’t something easy.
- When you see things like this happening around us,
- it gives us the motivation to keep working even harder.
- We can’t let the people who believe in you
- be disappointed.
- All we can do is show that we’re giving our best.
- In the end, results are what matter.
- If we get good results,
- people and companies will continue to support us.
- That’s football. Football is ultimately about results.
- No matter what anyone says, results are incredibly important.
- It’s sad, but I think there’s some truth to that.
- But I think how you reach that goal is important too.
- We just have to do our best given our current situation.
- This isn’t our first season,
- so it’s certain that we need to improve from last season.
- (Pre-match warm-up begins)
- We’ve had Myprotein’s Origin Pre-Workout,
- and we’re getting ready for today’s match.
- If you take this before exercising,
- it maximizes your workout performance.
- It contains ingredients such as caffeine and L-arginine,
- as well as beta-alanine,
- so it gives you a really good boost before exercising.
- And since it comes in refreshing pear and watermelon flavors that are great for summer,
- it’s really easy to just drink before exercising.
- From now on, our players will also
- take it before
- every match this season.
- As for the Impact Whey Protein Milkshake,
- it’s a great product
- that you can have anytime.
- This is actually the first time I’ve tried a protein powder like this,
- and it’s not heavy at all.
- Our players will also be able to have it before training.
- In simple terms,
- it’s concentrated whey protein
- and milk protein derived from cows,
- with high protein, low fat, and no sugar at all,
- so it’s really good for your health
- while still tasting great.
- In Korea, vanilla ice cream,
- chocolate milk,
- and cookie crumble flavors
- are scheduled to be released.
- This time, Myprotein Korea
- is running its biggest sale campaign of the year
- to celebrate Liberation Day on August 15.
- The sale runs from today, August 14, until 1 a.m. on August 16,
- with discounts of up to 81.5%,
- and the 8/15 Liberation Day special is currently underway.
- There are additional discounts as well,
- so with Chizumulu,
- it looks like the game will start at 3 as scheduled.
- This season, all of our home games
- will simply start at 3 p.m.,
- so we’ve decided to standardize them all that way.
- We’re preparing accordingly as well.
- Actually, last season they were in the relegation zone,
- and they should have been relegated to the fourth division.
- But when other teams were unable to participate because of financial problems,
- they got another chance
- to participate through sheer luck.
- Last season, in the Ekwendeni area, there were Ekwendeni 5
- and Ekwendeni Hard Knockers.
- Of those teams, Ekwendeni Hard Knockers
- couldn’t participate this season due to financial problems.
- So I know some of the players
- who used to play there as well.
- So I don’t think we can underestimate them too much.
- Especially since we’ve only scored one goal in our last three games,
- I’m hoping we can get a nice, convincing goal today.
- (Movert filmed some of the preparations for the match)
- (The opposing Ekwendeni FC players)
- (Checking each team’s squad list before the match)
- 10
- (Match begins)
- Chizumulu United against Ekwendeni FC like this.
- Unlike on the mainland, Chizumulu is definitely hot.
- I’ve been sweating a bit myself
- while getting ready for the match,
- and the Ekwendeni players don’t look particularly impressive physically.
- In terms of their ball control and their familiarity with the pitch,
- we have a bit more of an advantage,
- so I think we might get a good result today.
- I couldn’t watch the only game in our last three where we scored,
- the Lifrali game,
- so I honestly can’t remember the last time I saw us score.
- (The opening was pretty uneventful)
- Difference of 38,575,791 sheets.
- Another person captivated by Joseph’s clever dummy play today.
- (Mcfallen is already telling the bench players to warm up)
- It’s only the 23rd minute of the first half,
- and basically nothing has happened so far.
- Neither team has had a single chance.
- Harry Laban.
- He’s already getting him ready from around the 20th minute.
- (Hydration break)
- Laban is getting ready to come on immediately.
- (Emmanuel had to come off earlier than expected)
- (Mayamiko’s good delivery)
- He got that wrong at the end.
- (Another attack starting from Mayamiko)
- This is unbelievable.
- Ever since Laban came on,
- we’ve completely taken control of the game.
- Ekwendeni can’t even get forward at all,
- so I think if we keep pounding them,
- something will come from it.
- The ball is coming out.
- (Great pressure from Dickies)
- If this were a FIFA game,
- that would be a perfect scoring chance.
- That’s the third one we’ve missed.
- Enough with the match-engine bullshit.
- (We kept piling on the attacks)
- (But it ended 0-0 at halftime)
- The opposing coach said something and got booked.
- After missing three big chances,
- we ended the first half 0-0.
- Ekwendeni really weren’t threatening at all.
- It’s just a matter of whether we score or not.
- It feels like the goals could suddenly come pouring in,
- but we’re just missing that one thing. Just one thing.
- (Whenever we come here, it seems like this happens)
- (Later, we found out there had been a funeral nearby)
- (Mcfallen explaining the attacking tactics)
- Under the blazing sun in Chizumulu,
- we’re getting ready to start the second half.
- Let’s go~
- Second half begins @Chizumulu.
- With a lot of spectators coming in too,
- (A refreshing save)
- (Ekwendeni awarded the ball)
- A disciplinary decision for the earlier foul.
- It’s my first time seeing a foul like that in Malawi.
- (Good link-up play from No. 7)
- Oof.
- (Another two substitutions)
- Expert Kamanga, our captain from last season,
- and Charles Deya came on
- to replace Benjamin.
- Dickies is looking good.
- (68th minute — slowly getting going)
- (A header from a long throw finally gives Chizumulu the lead)
- The second half has been following pretty much the same pattern.
- It’s a relief that things are finally starting to open up.
- (Moster cam)
- (Midfielder Steve Phiri’s first goal of the season)
- Seriously, it’s Myprotein again.
- (No. 7’s good run)
- Joseph, nice.
- He’s up against an opposing attacker who’s almost a whole head taller than him,
- but he’s not losing the physical battle at all.
- The foul was against us, though.
- (It’s already stoppage time)
- I thought it was going to end like this,
- but Banya cut inside perfectly,
- and going all the way to the UK to bring back the protein
- may or may not have made a huge difference,
- but as the club chairman,
- I’m proud to think that I was able to contribute even a little.
- (Moster cam)
- (Movert gets two assists today — throw-in = corner kick)
- (Movert is excited and about to do something after getting two assists)
- (The match ends 2-0, with Chizumulu winning)
- Oh boy.
- Mcfallen doesn’t look happy.
- I wasn’t impressed with today’s game.
- I didn’t like the way we played today.
- (They say they’re coming to Malawi for a month)
- (Chizumulu kid)
- Who should we give Man of the Match to?
- I don’t know today. You guys decide.
- I choose Banya, who scored his first goal of the season.
- He worked hard today.
- (Moster worked his ass off today)
- Today’s Deépo Man of the Match award winner: Banya.
- You worked really hard today,
- and things only really came together for us in the second half,
- so is there anything you'd like to say?
- Anything you’d like to say as a final message?
- There have been a lot of difficult moments, but we'll keep working hard under the coaches.
- Seeing our current position in the table motivates us.
- I want us to come together as one team and move toward promotion.
- (With this win, we are now 3rd in the league with 3 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss, two points behind 1st place)
- Thank you to all the fans in Malawi and Korea for your support.
- Please continue to send us lots of support and strength.
- Considering how dominant we were,
- we didn't manage to make the scoreline much bigger,
- so I think I can fully understand Mcfallen's concerns as well.
- I think I have to thank Mcfallen again too.
- I’ll pay last month’s salaries and today’s winning bonuses,
- and I think that’ll wrap up the day.
- (We heard that one of the team’s teeth got knocked out)
- (It happened during the match, and we couldn’t even find the tooth)
- Thank you all for giving your best today.
- And to Dickies, who scored the July Goal of the Month,
- (Handing out July salaries and bonuses one by one)
- (One tooth missing, but still smiling)
- I’ll see what I can do to help.
- I finished everything up and came back into my room after getting some rest.
- Today, we put in a dominant performance against our opponents,
- and won 2-0,
- so I think it was a really good day.
- But the next away game is coming up soon.
- Today is Tuesday,
- and we’re away on Sunday.
- And one of our longest away trips, to Euthini,
- is coming up this week — it'll take around 10 hours to get there.
- So we have to leave on Saturday.
- That means I only have
- about three days to rest.
- So I’ll spend that time here editing
- and taking care of some other things,
- while staying in Chizumulu,
- and I’ll prepare for the next game with the team as well.
- To all the subscribers of our Changbakgol channel
- who always show us so much interest,
- thank you so much.
- We can do all of this because of you.
- I’m truly grateful,
- and we’ll continue to show you good things,
- so please continue to support us.
- Thank you sincerely
- for watching today’s video.
- Thank you.
